Hi
My husband is a Indian citizen born in Kashmir, working in the states. Holding a Indian passport.
When he applied for a renewal of his Indian passport he was only given a 2month passport, when he asked the Indian consulate why he was given only 2 months he was given no valid reason, but he over heard the clerk in the office say he is a Kashmir., when he asked why he is not being given 10 years he was told that he is born in Kashmir,
How could it be that every Indian citizen is given a 10 year passport and he only be given 2 months, it clearly states in the application documents that a passport should be renewed at least 6 to 12 months before the old expires so when would my husband renew his passport.
What happens when he wants to apply for a visa for another country or extend his H1 they all require the passport to be valid 6 months or more.
What is a Indian citizen?
The last time I checked most consulates are welcoming their own citizens if they are in any kind of trouble or doubt ,for any kind of help or advice when their citizen is in a foreign country.
What happens when a Indian is in need of his own consulate? They don’t even give their own citizen a valid passport or treat them with respect.
I my self a British citizen wanting to visit my laws, applied for a visa but was point blank refused on no valid reason after many words I was only given 1year visa, when it clearly states on the Indian consulate website that If I am married to a Indian citizen I am straight away eligible for a person of Indian origin card which is valid for 15 years. I feel the only reason for the Indian consulate to refuse my visa requests was because I am married to a Kashmir. When I see the leading political party in India is led by a Italian born lady married to a Indian, the chef minister of Kashmir is also married to a British lady who is living in Kashmir..
Does this not clearly show discrimination against Kashmir’s??
