I got my GC in November of 2001. I travelled to India for 3 weeks in Jan 2005 and again for 3 months (November 1, 2005 to January 31, 2006). At the POE, the officer asked me how long I stayed outside and the reasons for the stay. I came back and stayed in the US for 6 1/2 months and I am again on a trip to India for 3 1/2 months (August 15th to November 30th). Will I have any problems at the POE when I enter the US as I have taken two breaks of 3 months in the last 2 years. I had to travel for personal reasons both the time. Should I have any documents like Tax returnns, etc with me when I enter the US. Please advise.
 
No, You should be okay. I have done 4 close to six month trip almost sequentially. A couple of these were even close to 180 days. When you get to close to 180 days outside you should be prepared to present vaild reason. The POE officer will definitely ask you more questions.
