I am going to India for a month long visit after a gap of almost 3 years. Last time I visited in 2001 Jan. So I am not quite familiar with post-9/11 immigration procedures.

When I went last time, I was on H1. But now I have my GC. Could you please let me know any specific precautions that I need to take with respect to immigration documents? I will be traveling between New York/Newark and Chennai.

After getting GC I have changed address couple of times, last time being a month ago. Should I carry all “AR-11” copies that I filed along with proof of mailing and return receipts?
 
I have travelled thrice since 9/11, once to India.
The lamination job on my photo page on the pp is quite poor.
It has a large air gap in it.
Inspite of all that, I have never had any issues at all.
At US airports, they dont even pay attention to the pp when you have the new plastic GC. I guess bec the GC can be verified electronically on the spot. They barely flipped thru my pp.

I got my GC a week back. my and my family are visiting India. I will be back in a months time. My family be back after 3 months.

Should they need any extra documents? like re-entry permit etc.?
 
if they are PRs as well, the will not need a re-entry premit for 3 months vacation.
