I am going to India for a month long visit after a gap of almost 3 years. Last time I visited in 2001 Jan. So I am not quite familiar with post-9/11 immigration procedures.

When I went last time, I was on H1. But now I have my GC. Could you please let me know any specific precautions that I need to take with respect to immigration documents? I will be traveling between New York/Newark and Chennai.

After getting GC I have changed address couple of times, last time being a month ago. Should I carry all “AR-11” copies that I filed along with proof of mailing and return receipts?

You need to carry nothing except your GC or the stamp in the passport which ever you have currently valid...

Enjoy the trip...

I did not pay, I used my miles to get ticket by British Airways for me and my son (Infant). I bought my wife's ticket for 1290 to Mumbai from Newark.

I was quoted 1250 by Austrian. Little circuitous : NY - Boston-Washington- Vienna- Delhi. I guess at this point availability of seats is more important than price.
