Hi,
My wife got EAD as a spouse derivative. She got a job offer on contract-to-hire basis. When on H1, she is used to contract thru vendors or other layers. Can she avoid all those and work directly for the company? Is it legal for EAD (holders)?
Aside from Immigration legalities, what paper work she needs to do to get paid if directly working on individual basis in order to be taxed properly etc? Is W-2 typically used only for permannet employment? I hear that working on 1099 could be a pain (from taxes point of view) if we don't own a compnay (inc.) Is that right? How to overcome that?
