Independent Consultant after getting EAD

It is possible for me to work as a Independent Consultant (working on a hourly rate with a company without having H1) after getting my EAD.
 
If your EAD is more then 180 days old.

If you have met the AC21 requirement of 180 days after 485 filing, then go for it. Else wait till 180 days has expired.
