Incorrect Approval Date

My spouse and myself received out GC on June 4th 2007. However I just noticed that my GC is back dated to 2006 but my spouse has the correct date for 2007.

Should I notify INS about the date issue or just ignore this?
Appreciate forum members thoughts and comments?

Thanks

I will notify CIS to get this corrected.
Remember, you cannot take advantage on their errors to wrongfully get your GC, passport and etc... It is your obigation to tell CIS.

Error in Approval Date

Thanks for your responses.

This definately seems to be an error since my dates were not current in 2006.One more thing to note is the expiration date is 2017. This clearly indicates that the approval date was an error and should have been 2007.

I'm planning to speak to the IO and get his/her suggestions?

Anyone in similar situation though?
Thanks

Spoke to IO

Here is my update.

I spoke to the IO and she metioned that I should send my GC back with a letter explaining the error. However my concern in doing so is, will they misplace my GC and never issue a new one? I can't rely on their in-efficient process.

So am really confused on my next steps. Currently I am looking to move jobs too and am thinking this might cause some delays/problems.

Can someone throw some light. I feel so depressed.
Thanks

Worry never ends even after GC. You got couple of answer and you still want to dig for an answer that you want to hear. Why don't you contact your attorney.

Spoke to my attorney and she mentioned the same. It appears that all the responses are just pointing to one direction.

So I have decided to mail it back with an explanation. Will keep you all posted on the progress.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post comments.

Good luck, as someone suggestion get the stamping done on the passport and also speak to IO if possible, make copies all the documents.

StillAlive, Thank you very much for you suggestions. I will take an infopass appointment also and get all the stuff in place before I send my GC back.

I noticed that after checking with everyone, I got the same response that you mentioned in your first post. So will follow your suggestions on I-90 and links.
Thanks very much.
