Friend of mime had a trip to Canada recently. When came back to US border, the INS inspector wrote following on her passport.

CWCD
INA 221(b)(3)

Does anyone have the same experiences or happen to know what's the 221(b)(3)?

Very appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Lisa

Thanks JeoF.
I'm sure it's 221(b)(3).

We found the same url in the INS site like you do.

Also we found this: http://www.theorator.com/bills107/hr3052.html

It mentions fowllowing:
----------------------------------------------------------
(a) REQUIREMENT FOR NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION- Section 221(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1201(b)) is amended--

(1) by inserting `(1)' after `(b)'; and

(2) by inserting at the end the following new paragraph:
`(2) Each alien who applies for a nonimmigrant visa shall submit a biometric identifier (such as the fingerprints or handprint of the alien) that is machine readable, at such time and in such manner as shall be determined by regulation by the Attorney General and ...'
----------------------------------------------------------

But it doesn't have the 221(b)(3).
Yesterday, I found a web site to mention the 221(b)(3), but it doesn't have the detail info.

JoeF, could you please do some research, very appreciate your help!

Also in her passport it had:

CWCO or might be CWCD
I have no idea about what that stands for?
Can you take a guess?

Again, thank you very much!

Thanks JoeF.

She is a GC. And the inspector wrote those on one of her old expired H1b visa in her passport.
Hope this could help to figure out the “CWCD” or “CWCO”.

About the 221(b)(3), do you think it makes sense to contact INS for some clarification?

Thanks again.

Thanks JeoF, Moulin Rouge.

It might be CWOP, I will check with her today to find it out.

But the H1b visa is an old and expired for 2 years already. Don't understand why the inspector cancels that for?

Again, Thank you very much.
