in Queue (wait-list) for interview = Name check completed?

I heard from USCIS that my n-400 case is waiting in Queue (wait-list) for interview.

Q1--What does it mean?
Q2--Anyone got similiar answer from USCIS and got an interview letter within 2 month after being placed in queue?
Q3---Do they put some on in the Queue if the Name check is not completed?

Is it normal or is it some thing an indication about waiting for FBI Name Check. I would like to get the experiances of the Gurus here - I heard lot of stories about the Name check backlogs.... So I would like some info.....

Thanks in advance.

It depends. If this information you received is from an infopass then it is more reliable. If it is from advice over the phone then I would be hopeful but not too confident. The phone operator can not see the FBI name check results. The name check is the only unkown here - even for those who have never had any contact with law enforcement (that tells something does it not!). In your case, since you got your green card through marriage and now 3 years later citizenship you have had less time in the US and the chances of you getting stuck for name check is less. There is a some 78 year European lady who is stuck in name check as per an article in New York Times. She has lived over 40 years in this country and was a successfuly businesswoman. Your office San Jose is much slower than SFO etc so it will be a while before you get an interview letter. If you are keen to know if you are clear do an info pass if you have not done one.

We have been getting this post a lot latley.

Q1--What does it mean?
It mean all the checks are complted and you have been placed in queue for IL .

Very limited cases. It still depends how back logged DO's are.
Q3---Do they put some on in the Queue if the Name check is not completed?
I has asked Immigration guy in detailed and was told you only get in queue if all your checks are completed.Mine was done April and still have not recieved any IL.But my DO is the slowest in the world:o

I called today again, this time I was told that my name check is still pending and it is true that I was put in the Q for interview since May 1, 07, but no interview can be scheduled without clearance.

I don't get it, my PD is 4/27/06, they put in the Q one year later, I thought they don't put you in the Q unless your name check is cleared; maybe they put you in the Q once your case is over a year old. I was told soon I will receive 2nd FP notice due to my FP will be expired soon. (over 15 month of the date I had my FP done)

This is quite frustrating, and it is the first that he was able to say that my PD is 4/27/06, not 5/4/06, therefore, I tend to believe what he told me.

I guess I am just out of luck.

Don't waste your time talking to those school drop out buffoons on the information line. Even USCIS ombudsman has said conflicting information is given out. They don't even know how to bring up your case on the computer. Their standard line is call back in 60 days! Don't waste your time, do an info pass. If you know for sure your name check is stuck then seek an appointment with your senator or rep. If your communication skills are not strong send a written note and ask for a status check. Most congressmen will only contact the FBI for status check. FBI does not respond to expedite requests from congressmen and USCIS will not do that unless there are some strong reasons to do that in "fairness" to other "customers". If I were you, I would sue USCIS now that you have been over a year stuck in name check. Just look up the top thread on this forum. You could languish for a long time if you do not sue. Before you sue , get an FOIPA done - it takes a month at the most. Do a search on this forum to find out how to do it. If you have a main file record with FBI or know you might be on a FBI reference file (that is you are not squeaky clean), then it is best to wait.

BRB2,
Thanks so much for your advice. I really appreciate it. I will call as well as write to all parties. The problem of me is I don't have time to follow up, and it has been really spending me a lot of time calling them, let alone say infopass, which never got any answer.

USCIS told me " do not go for Infopass, they are not going to tell you anything".

I am going to do try to reach out to all parties again, and hope the best.

Thanks again

Hi, Atanase,
I thank you so much! Your information is helpful. My personal and professional life has been impacted already. I had to make a decision early this year that I have been regretting every day, and the pain that I had since then will not go away for my whole life. At this point, I am not sure that I want this any more! It just gets funnier when you get different stories every day. My uncle is dying, and I have to try to take care of him for so long he lives, maybe over 6 months, I could have transferred to global location but I turned it down since I should be getting IL by June 15( as they told me). Anyhow, I am beat and lost the energy and strength to fight any more.

But I will think about your route and your case is different than mine, at least you had your interview. Let's hope that my case is rare case and most of us get the case processed in timely manner.

errou, hi !

I think I wrote to almost every elected officials asking for help in expediting the name check. I described my name check experience in details, see
