Friends, Spelling of my name is wrong in my I-485 Reciept, only first letter of my first name,is it a problem or should I call them and let them know, I talk to my lawyer he said don\'t worry, we filed application with a correct name, I don\'t know what they are doing.
I appreciate any help in this regards. Also any clue how much time should I have to wait to get FP notice or GC approval.

I am writing this for my Hubby.

Thanks
Nicky

Nick :
I think you should definetly call the INS and talk to one of the IIOs. They will advice you regarding this issue. I presume that they will send you an amended receipt with the correct spelling of your name. I think your attorney is not advising you properly. Any mistake in the name should be brought to the attention of the INS immediately.

That\'s what I feel. What do you think folks. Bhanu.. any thoughts...

Nick, this won\'t effect any thing on your current processing, only thing is you have to call and report to an IIO, they will verify with your application and if its their typo mistake they will correct it then and there and send you a new receipt for your records. That\'s all...

It is not a problem. But some time round the road you have to correct it..
In one of my friend case, Receipt details are ok. But there is spelling mistake on FP notice.
During Finger printing he corrected at INS office...(They can edit the record).

For receipt case, You have tocontact the INS.

Yes. Call 802-527-4913 and talk to an IIO. They may have your name correctly in their system. I too got a receipt notice with wrong A#, but the A# was correct in their system. If the name is spelled correctly in their system you need not worry about it. Otherwise they will correct it for you. Anyway it is not an issue at all.
