In H4 can we start a child day care home(baby sit)

Hi friends,

I was working before in USA for for 18 months so i have my SSN.Then i went back to H4.When i enquired licensing office for the things required to start child day care home,they say all they need is valid id and SSN.

My question is it legal to start day care home?I am little confused.
 
On a H4, you are not authorized to work.
The licensing office may not be aware of the Immigration Laws. They are just telling you what any Citizen would require to start the business.

Sorry - H4 does not allow a person to start a business..You will need to get an EAD first..(i.e., apply for GC)
 
You can start a business in H4. Why even if you not in US you can start a business in US. But you cannot work for that business. That is what the law is all about. H4 visa does not allow a person to work that does not mean you cannot start a business. If you start a business and you either employ anyone else or in other words do not take part in the day to day administration of the business then you can run the business.
