I am thinking of concurrently filing for I-140 and I485 under National Interest Waiver by next month. Unlike most members here who are in the IT field, my situation is a bit different, I am presently working in a university as a researcher. According to what I understand, most people use their EAD to change jobs after 180 days of applying for I-485.
My question is
1) Can I change from research field to medical residency(which is not the same kind of job) after I get my EAD?
2) How long does it usually take for the I-485 to be approved?
3) If I have to go ahead with residency without using my EAD ( i.e through a visa-H1/J1) can I use my priority date for subsequent GC application?
GURU's on this forum Please help me with these issues.
