Hello,
I'm an international student who just finished her Master's program and moving onto the Ph.D program (at the same school). My old I-20 expired on this May 20. I just got a new I-20 (changing level) with the starting date of August 24, 2010.
I'm still in the US, and I was offered to teach a summer course (on-campus employment) from mid-June until the end of July. I also have a ticket to go home (leaving US) at the end of July.
Is there a problem working and getting paid during the summer? I mean, the old I-20 has been expired, and my new I-20 doesn't technically start until August 24. My F-1 visa is good until 2015, though. Do I need an OPT or am I ok working full-time during summer?
What is this 60-day grace period? Am I even allowed to be here?? And What about the "no entrance to the country before 30-days prior to the start of the program"?
Thank you!
