Important thought for comprehenssive immigration bill

Actually amnesty to illegal immigrant is 500 lb gorilla. Comprehenssive immigration bill will have very steep climbing on mountain alongwith this 500 lb gorilla (Specter, keneddy et al. are trying now). 90% American are against to give any amnesty to illegal. They feels that this will give motivation to tons of more people to come here illegally and one day the US become hell. Majority of congressmans are also opposing this. The president is in favor to give guest worker but not amnesty to illegal. Is it fair that person legally waiting for GC since many years and law breker illegal immigrant break the line!! ??

I am doubt this illegal issue may kill comprehenssive immigration bill at full senate vote or full House vote. We legal people will have punishment (like S 1932) It is wise thing for legal immigrant community to wish, push and support that Bill First should introduce enforcement only bill plus provisions of legal immigrants (As employment base immigration is not in contraversy at any level)

No comprehensive immigration bill in 2006

Actally I am not supporting illegal immigration. Then what is the solution for 11 million undocumented? Is it possible to deport all of them? If possible, let them go. Otherwise give them a legal channal to become PR & citizen, but they should stand in the end of backlogged line with hefty fine. This may be a workable solution. However it wont happen in this year, due to the strong rift between house and senate.

Immigration is in the spotlight on the Hill as Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist threatens to produce narrow immigration reform legislation, along the lines of the Sensenbrenner bill, by the end of the month if the Senate Judiciary committee does not report an immigration bill to the floor on time. Sen. Frist who is vying for the Republican nomination for the 2008 Presidential election is attempting to bolster his conservative Republican base by this maneuver. We believe that even if Sen. Frist introduces anti-immigrant legislation through Senate parliamentary procedures, he will likely not succeed. It is our belief that a filibuster proof majority exists for McCain-Kennedy in the Senate and that the Senate will likely pass a bill strongly deriving from the original McCain-Kennedy bill. What this implies is that the conference of the Senate with the Sensenbrenner bill will not just be contentious but unproductive. It appears that the interests of both sides at this time lie in doing nothing.

I posted this thread this morning and got a great news after couple of hours that Bill Frist has put his bill in front of Senate and included very favorable provisions for EB category.

Thanks God !! we were detached from 500 lb gorilla (Amnesty to 11 million illegal).

EB category do not have any contraversy. on the contrarary, anti-immigrant cann't oppose this bill across the board as it has lot of enforcement provision.

Guys have a party tonight!!! I think, we will be through within few month. Please keep contacting lawmakers.
