Hey guys!
HAd my oath this morning and the director of BCIS in South CArolina talked to us for awhile and she explained that the back log is due to them only have in 3 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) officers in the whole state (1 in Greer and 2 in Charleston) until 4 weeks ago. They have hired 7 new officers and are hoping to catch up on the backlog and get it completely gone by the end of the year.
This means that there is definite hope for speedy processing in the future. This lady was a lot different than I had expected, she adressed the time lines and how inefficient the agency is and explained that the funding is not there. She said she had fought for 2 years to be able to hire more officers....basically Washington is being cheap.....
Regardless, It was amazing hearing an INS employee talking about the reality of the problems they have without that "attitude" that we all have encoutnered during our journey.
Anyhow wishing you the best of luck and I will stick around so ttys
