Important Information for Bangladeshi Regarding "Affidavit of Support" for DV 2007.

Hi all members from Bangladesh,

I am Shohel Chowdhury,doing postgrade research in Dublin city University,Dublin Ireland .I made an inquiry (By Email)in Dhaka Embassy about
the requirement of "Affidavit of Support" ,they replied the following Paragraph:


Thank you for your inquiry. "Affidavit of Support" is not required for
an applicant who will not become a public charge in United States.
During your interview the consular officer will decide on this matter.
Please feel free not to bring "Affidavit of Support" for your interview.

I think this information will be usefull for Bangladeshi DV-2007 winner.

I think it is good news for us but i am confused perhapes the news is wrong or right but want to know that what you mean by US public charge. I have never been in america and currently i am in istanbul and i am electronic eng hopefully i will have my intervew in Ankara. So for finans supports document i have planned to show atleast 15000th usd on my bank account. you mean any bangladesh candidate no need need if they have no anu us public charge.I am confused if US diplomates can change there mode at anytime.

This thing is fine for those peoples interview will be scheduled in only Dhaka Embassy in Bangladesh.I dont know about any other US consuler Embassy in different countries.It varies consular to consular.

US Consular officer in Dhaka,Bangladesh will determine at the of interview whether he/she will become public charge,depends on his /her Educational or Employment background.
 
Affidavit of Support

Dear Shohel

I confirm that Affidavit of Support is not required in Dhaka Consultate. Even i heard the same for Kualalampur, its a nice decision of the State Department, that they have enough confidence on the Bangladeshi people who will not be a burden on the Federal Government.

But in some abnormal cases, the Visa Officer might request you to submit that. In my case, i took the pain to collect an Affidavit of Support, but it was not asked for at all. the possibility is 1 out of 50 .

But Ferdous you know i (doing Masters in Engineering ,Ireland) will face my interview with my wife as well (She is doing Masters in Commerce in Bangladesh) at Dhaka Embassy.


Affidavit of support is not required if i am only principal applicant but with my wife is it required? Can you confirm me about it?
 
Affidavit of Support

Affidavit of Support is not asked for in Dhaka Consulate. It depends on the living standard of people. The living standard of Bangladeshis are extremely low and they are ready to do any odd job as a result, this condition is quite flexible. For European and Australia, Support is mandatory. So do not be proud of my comment, as this is a painful reality.

Your papers in School and College are more than enough. Same goes with your wife's one. But you should keep additional as supporting documents. Your studies in Ireland is not important at all to the American visa officer.

Affidavit of support was not required for any of us, though I attended the interview along with my wife.

P.S. if you have a good reference in the United States, its not a bad idea to collect one and be on the safe side. Dont submit it unless asked for.

Dear friends,

As i learn that from one of my friend from US embassy ankara about financial supports. her openion is that- in US, one should get atleast 12000usd with.But she also said, they are aware of bangladeshi ppl as most of them are not able to show such amount. after all she also said, in US most of indian subcontinent ppl have a good connection each other and goverment is also believe that asian ppl are really contribute to us. In short i want to say that they trust us. apart from this i also agree to mr ferdaus.
