I just finished my conversation with a very famous Immig attorney.
Since VSC is so slow and its very frustrating to wait like this when employers are thinking of laying off , I called him to find out if I have any options. He said very clearly after April 2001 ie. 180 days after the law has been passed,(he is not sure about the exact date in april) its okay to quit and take up new job (again there are definetly job restrictions in the new employment) without Jeopardizing GC process. there is no need to file 485 after joining new employer.
But its necessary to collect proof that we were with this employer till April . I thought I would this info, and someone who needs can make use of it.
