If you want to check your FP status send an e-mail to "liaison@leo.gov"
and they will respond with in 24 hrs.you have to provide your Name ,A#,date of birth.
This was the response I got from them:

The results of your fingerprint check were returned to the USCIS office
on
11/30/2005. We return all results within 24 hours of receipt. Your
response is with the USCIS. All further inquiries should be directed
to
your local USCIS office.

Thanks for the nice information ! Gebre. A BASIC QUESTION:

A long but never-solved question:

Why BCIS keep running FB checkup ? Why would FP expire ? The police keep their rap sheets for life time and never " expired". Think about how many FP we have done in the past and in the years to come...

Now since BCIS has ALL these FP, Bio done electronically and seem to store them in computer either, why would they just keep FP checked automatically every 1 or 2 years throught their network with FBI ( or other agencies ) by submiting those already stored fingerprints to them ? Why must they always ask the applicant to physically show up in ASC to re-take the print, we all know the fingerprint is life time unchanged...

Thank you and other forum members for your clarification on the rationale and justification for this big waste.

FP results quickly but Name Check !!!!!!!

Gebre, Thanks for the info. I did that & as you mentioned received their response. But you know what ? FP clears up very quickly mostly the same day the worst thing is name check & I even e-mailed them about name check 3 months back but they never replied me nor you get any help by calling them.

It's a mistery to me, too. I just know that in some cases FP may deteriorate over the time, if a person works with chemicals or desinfectants. I pesonally know a woman who is a nurse and she has an official document from the police stating that her FP are unreadable.

So the name check and FP check is different? atique rahman, I think your date is close since you got LUD changed.

Morning, if ASC takes the applicant's FP, that means it passed and should be in good shape when storing. On the other hand, if the person's FP is unreadable, then to do his/her FP check does not make any sense.

Evidently, there a mechanism to verify person's identity with other means. For example, bio code2 includes a picture of your eye. Otherwise, I have no rational explanation how FP can expire. When I applied for asylum in the times immemorial, I submitted a hard copy of my FP, taken at the nearest police station and still had to redo FP a number of times, because they "expire" :D

Surprise, Yes FP & Name check is totally different. Well, I like to belive my date is close too let's see what happens. But this LUD change is due to RFE as far my experiences say. Well, the best thing about LUD change is it's good to know atleast IO is going through your file.

Then they just need to automatically submit it for check since they already stored your FP in your system. Why do we need to go the ASC to re-do it ?

Thanks for the encouragement! I'll be talking about luck only after receiving properly backdated plastic. :D Good luck to you, too. ;)

Even though my knowledge of the subject is pretty limited, I know from an immgration attorney that the system automatically reissues FP notices after 15 months (I hope I got it right) :p
By the way, I had a 6-point match on my right ring finger when I had my code 3 done on 12/10/05. Just to let you know that you are chatting with a known terrorist! :D
