Imagine I get my I-140 approved December 2005 this year.
Then I decide to quit my work and stay abroad for six months. The reason is because my parents are sick and I would like to spend a time with them.

What would be the implication on my I-485 and greencard process ?

As far as I know, if you have a valid advance parole document you should be able to enter back without any issues. It would help if your employer can support with a letter of leave of absence.
