My daughter is a USC (American born) and a minor. If I apply for her to be a citizen of some other country (that permits dual citizenship) will it have any impact on her US citizenship now or in the future?
I understand the US position on dual citizenship seems to be akin to a dont ask dont tell in the sense that if you become a naturalised American the US does not really go out of its way to confirm that you have rejected (or whatever the verb is) your prior citizenship so you end up having dual status.
BUt what happens when you are an American national applying for citizenship elsewhere?
