Impact of divorce judgement on citizenship application?

I am a GC holder about to apply for citizenship. I was divorced a couple of years ago with "cruel and inhuman treatment" toward my spouse as being my fault. In court she alleged domestic violence and also called the cops on me once on a false charge. The cops found nothing wrong and I was not arrested or charged etc. Just that the divorce judgement says I treated her cruelly etc. Will this affect my citizenship application on grounds of good moral character? Any help appreciated.

No Way

Sorry to hear about your trouble with your x-wife.
I don\'t think so at all. However, if your immigration is through her and you\'re already divorced (legally), then you will need to wait 5 years to be eligible to apply for the citizenship as it apposed to waiting 3 years while being married (watch for this trick!). I recommend consulting with an immigration lawyer once it\'s time for your N-400 application. You can apply 3 months earlier than 5 years based on the date of your first I-551 stamp.
Good luck.
