IMP-EAD and I485

Hi

I have applied for I485 through my wife(She is a primary app.). I have received my EAD approval. Currently I am on H1B but I am planning to join residency on my EAD, so my H1 B will become invalid.
We haven't received any finger printing recipt or anything regarding I485.
My question is am I putting myself at risk by going on EAD? as I seriously want to do my residency.

The only advantage of being on H1B is incase your I-485/I140 application gets rejected than you will still be on valid status. If on EAD than you would have to leave US as soon as your applications are rejected.

BUT STILL POSTER CAN COME BACK TO US ON VALID H1-B.
