Hello,

I was wondering how many ppl chose to go with immigration lawyers, and how many ppl filed their paperwork and forms by themselves? Is it easier and less frustrating paying a lawyer, does it take less or more time? Is it easier filing just by yourself?? I am fixing to file for my I-129F for my fiance. We have all documents and everything, but I just don't want to have our paperwork sitting around and I want to ensure that its taken care of. Any help would be great, as we want to get this sorted and taken care of the fastest way. I know we will still have to wait, but any response would be great and input on this!

Thank you for the link, While that is helpful I was just asking if it would be easier to file on my own or with a lawyer?? Just wanted general feedback from everyone filing and such. Any feedback would be great!

Hi.
Many many people have chosen to complete their own K1 petition and have been very successful. If your case is straight forward (ie, does not involve any criminal convictions or visa overstays etc) then there is no reason why you wont be successful filing on your own either.
Im currently in the process of my own K1 visa and have been fine so far. Yes, theres a lot of paperwork to sort out, but its hardly rocket science. So if youve got patience and want to save $$ then go for it on your own. I also made extensive use of visajourney.com. On that site there are guides for step by step filing as well as templates and examples of documents that you need to complete.
