I am from the us and i'm marrying a Canadian in Sept..3 2001.What steps do i have to take now and after the marriage so she can live and work in the us...she plans on moving in right after the wedding...we do not have alot of money so trying to do this without hiring a lawyer..
 
She can't just come down from Canada and then stay after marriage without the proper visa- to do so is classed as visa fraud anc can result in deportation/ban from the US.

The visa that you are looking for is the K1 fiance visa. This takes on average 4-9 months to process, so get applying for it now!!!
