hi immig gurus,

i have a problem with my case. looks like my FPs will expire before the oath ceremony for US citizenship.

i was FPd on May 20, 2005 and the interview here in Peoria, Illinois might happen on Aug 25, 2006. i was told that FPs expire in 15 months. is it 15 months after FBI approval or from the date it was taken? please advise.

btw, is there anything i can do to find out more about this? ur help will be greatly appreciated. thanks a ton.

FP expire 15 months after the date were taken...since the clearance occurs within 24 hours.

I understood that USCIS extends the validity of FP to up to 2 years.

If everything else is in order and your FP are expired they will send you a note to have them retaken.

thanks a lot suzy977 for ur advise. i feel a lot better now. i was wondering if u could share more about this validity extension. is this a new law that came into effect recently? would it cover all of us waiting for our interviews? pls share. thanks again! appreciate it!!
