Hi all,
I am an intending immigrant and helping the sponsor meet household income requirement. What documents would be required from the sponsor and the immigrant?
Thanks a million in advance!
This forum is proving to be of great help.

Are you marrying a USC and have no kids? than you only need one I-864.
You might need I-864A otherwise.

In any case you will need evidence that your income will continue from the current source after obtaining lawful permanent resident status. Again depending on the situation you might have to provide evidence that you are living with the USC.

The sponsor needs pay stubs (at least 2 months), letter from the employer proving that s/he has the job + salary, 3 years of tax returns . You might need more documents if you are using assets to supplement income.

Thank you for your reply.
What will be needed to prove that my income will continue from the same source after I get my GC? That's been very confusing to me.
I have my paystubs, W2s and tax returns that I plan to submit.
Thanks again!

Hi there -

I was in your same boat. I asked my employer to write a letter for me, stating the dates of my employment, my salary, and something along the lines of "We hope Bellalondon will continue her employment with us in the future." You just need something that demonstrates you will have a steady income/stable job in the near future.

Hope that helps!
