Immigation Photograph Changes from Sideview

www.immigration-law.com

AILA has reported that the immigration services have decided to abandoned the traditional practice of sideview photo requirement in various immigration proceedings and adopt the passport/visa frontview photograph as early as August 1, 2004. Immigrant community is advised to take and submit the new fronview photographs from here on. Please watch for the USCIS' official announcement.

This is good. Applicants need not pay as high as $10 for 2 photographs, just for the side view. Now, can walk-in to Ritz Camera and have 12 photographs for $10.

Peace of Mind, $10 for 2? I m not sure where do you live, but it costs much more than that where I live. Anyway you look at that, this step is great!!!! about time we allocate less money for all the interim documentation until our I485 is approved. :)

Guys,
You need not take my advice..., but,
For any immigration/non-immigration purpose photographs..., do not take photographs if the photographer is holding the camera in hand... insist that the camera be fixed on a tripod. Do not go to AAA even if it is free...

Is it true

Can anyone also confirm this. the website says this will start from 01-AUG-04. We send 485 application on 26th July 04. Will they reject my photos ?

please reply.

jambalakadi,
I gave a comment on what you posted and the link to immigration-law.com
After you asked the question "is it true"..., I searched for the actual information..., could not find any...
The link posted on the immigration-law.com is from the department of state and not USCIS....
I did not find any change in information on USCIS website. So is the reason, I believe only 3 websites regarding immigration information
(1) USCIS
(2) immigration.com
(3) murthy.com

Another oppurtunity for RFE

Now CIS can ask all applicants who filed with side-view snap to send in the new format.

This news can be found in www.shusterman.com (Carl Shusterman is an immigration attorney and most of times, he gets the news first from his contacts at DOS and USCIS). Look in the News ticker box on right.

I took photos using my own digital in front of a white wall and printed it out for less than $2.00. I did it for the last three years' EADs and APs. :D
But for my final passport stamping, we just have Wallgreens to take it for us, $18 for two people.

I'll tell you if INS will accepte our photos after stamping next Monday.

VCORCL, LOL....you are cracking me up...... :D
the most amazing part is that it worked for about 6 {(AP+EAD)*3} applications...
Hey, good luck on Monday, and once again CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

best,
