Hi Folks :
I am a canadian PR (I mean I would be when I land next month) and going to the Ottawa consulate for my H1B stamping , next month . I had my Practical Training (EAD) until 28th May 2002
(Done my masters in Mechanical Engineering in US) , I filed for my H1 on 23rd May and my H1 got approved from 28th August 2002 . This means a gap of 3 months in between the expiration of EAD card and the starting date of H1 (as written in the I-797). Would this be a problem ? Am I in trouble ? BTW , I shall be commuting from Windsor , Canada to Detroit , US after I get my H1 stamped. What should I say when posed a question to explain the this gap of 3 months ?
Any comments/experiences /inputs would be highly appreciated.
Please help guys

Many thanks for your time....

Advice Please

Many thanks Usnycus for your input .Just one more quick question please (If u don't mind ).Recently to my horror I have discovered that I have been granted the H1 only for 21 months as against the usual practice of 36 months. [My I-797 says the validity date as 28th August 2002 till 28th May 2004 . I know I am utterly stupid to not check this out at the time of the receipt of the I-797 and just assumed that I have been granted an H1 of 3 years like everybody else . But now my visa interview is scheduled on 17th of May and the I-797 is expiring on 28th of May.
Please tell me folks what shd. I do now ? Is it a very common practice to grant the H1 Visas for diffrent durations as per INS's whims and fancies ? Could it be a mistake or typo ? If yes, what should I do about it ? Would this thing adversely affect the stamping of the H1?
Please ....Please......... Advice
Thanks

Safe Bet would be to apply for a H1 Ext with Premium Processing and you should get the H1 transfered in 10 days

Thanks for your reply Zipper . Would it be OK if I file for an extension in the regular processing and have my LIN # with me ?
What are my chances if I do that ?
