One of my friends got admission and I-20s for two universities (A) and (B). He was granted F-1 visa for university (A). He came into the US 2 weeks back using that visa. He has now decided to pursue his studies at (B). The Foreign Student Advisor at (A) has completed the transfer form provided by (B) stating that he has not registered for any course at (A) and that he is not interested in pursuing the course at (A). The Foreign Student Advisor at (B) thinks the transfer form is ambiguous and is requiring him to apply for F-1 Reinstatement.
Questions:
1) Is applying for an F-1 reinstatement mandatory in such a case?
2) What are the chances of the F-1 Reinstatment getting rejected?
3) Is it advisable that he study one semester at (A) rather than opting for reinstatement with (B)
