Can you post more information, i.e. petition type, your relation to petitioner, your current status, your age when petition was filed, date of filing, service center, etc.

Without knowing more about your situation I have no idea what you are talking aout but here is a guess.

The Patriot Act provided for immediate relative status for spouses of U.S. citizens widowed as a direct result of the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001, regardless of the length of the marriage, and provided that the spouse was not legally separated at the time of the citizens death and files a petition within two years of the death, having not remarried in the interim. Children of a U.S. citizen killed in one of the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001 may also file a petition for status as an immediate relative, provided the petition is filed within two years of the death of the parent, and regardless of the age of the child or marital status.

Other than that, I've never heard of the "child act" and a search for this phrase on the AILA and BCIS websites yields nothing.

Hi....
thanks for your answare...
My father filed for me for GC on sept 2001 when i was still under age 21 ,INS told me it usually takes 800 days for processing because i will pass that age during the processing time.
but based on that new law my file changed to immediate relative
because i'm still unmaried and my father filed behalf of me when i was under 21.
recently i checked my statue on INS website based on my reciept
number and it told me that my file on sept 25 2002 was transferd to another BCIS office for schudeling the interview and it takes several months but after 7 months nothing has changed.
and i think that my file is not even in NVC.
please help me out.
