I have applied for 485 in July 2007, 180 days are over. I have EAD and AP. I am still waiting for the finger print notice. I want to start my own business. The same work I am doing on my H1-B. I am on 7th year H1-B and not interested to renew it further with the same company, wants to use EAD to do my own work.

Questions:

I start my own work on EAD and due to some reason my green card is denied, what are my options that day:

will I have to leave the country immediately?
Can I appeal?
Am I considered illegal for the time between denial and appeal?
