I'm a USC filing GC for my F1 wife. She's in US. I'm not. Any precautions?

Hello all,

I'm a US Citizen. My wife is an F1 student here in the US. We are about to file for her GC. By the time we actually file the forms in about two weeks, I will already be in Asia for a business trip. I'll be gone for two whole months.

Are there any precautions I need to take to ensure that I won't be jeopardising my wife's GC application?

That will be OK as long as you two have a permanent address in the US, which can be your wife's.

It's more important for her to be here since she's gonna have to go for a FP appointment. Just make sure she has all the docs that she needs before you leave, there are some things, like a BC that only you can obtain.
