Ok hi, i'm a 48 year old prison officer from the uk, and my husband has the same job, we have a 15 year old daughter and we want to restart our lives in the USA. One problem we don't know where to start! Are we too old? Will we qualify? there's so many questions we just can't find the answers to! My brother lives in Texas, does this help us? My daughter is eager to start her life in the USA, like start collage and high school over there, and my husband and i feel we would like a change. We would hopefully be able to get jobs as prison wardens in USA, or are we too old, but does our history as prison officers in the UK help us?
Baiscally i started this thread hoping that someone will be able to answer my questions or even tell me somewhere i might be able to find the answers to my many questions.
Thank you, all help will be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi. My opinion is that if your brother legally lives in the US, you will be able to get a Green Card. I'm not sure how long the waiting list is these days for people coming from Britain. If and when you come here, jobs are pretty hard to find, especially in Corrections. It is hard financing the prison with their overcrowded inmates, let alone the guards.

I would recommend you stay in the UK for the time being. The Indian community is very limited in the US with mostly rich doctors and lawyer down to the cab driver. Since you and your husband are borderline 50, and your daughter is 15, I would recommend staying in the UK. The choice is yours though.
