I'm a DV2008 Winner. Can I apply to the DV2009?

I'm a winner of the DV2008, but I have not received my second letter with the interview date. Do you think is wise to apply to the DV2009, just in case?

Thank you

Case moved to Administrative Processing

Hello Everybody,

My Wife happens to be the primary applicant. I'm the husband and we got two kids (2yrs old and 1month old) We received our NL on the 25th of April and attended interview on the 21 November 2007. Unfortunately, my wife let me down as she couldn't answer the consular's questions satisfactorily. She was asked to talk about her first degree project and she couldn't explain in details. In fact, the Lady said even she that graduated four(4) years ago can still remember her project work and meanwhile my wife just graduated 3years ago. My wife has communication problem as she can not fully express herself. To cut the long story short, our case has been forwarded for Administrative processing. I'm not really happy as im currently writing this forum considering all effort and money spent. Can you imagine paying $3020 excluding Medicals and Waec verification and other sundary account.

In short, We were asked to obtain an Int'l passport for our little born baby who was just 1month and 25days old on the day of the interview.Do you know what pains me so much? It was written in the green paper given to us that the Administrative processing is going to take 6months.

What I want to ask this Forum, is there any possibility of getting a reinvitation before 6months.

Are you sure that you are now in administrative processing because of the interview? Or is this just the normal procedure in your country? Btw: even if it takes 6months, you still have enough time to get the visa, so you can be happy that you had an early interview! But I understand that you're disappointed.

Please be gentle with your wife. No matter what happens, she is more important to you than America or green card. Remember to tell her you love her and that will not change even if you don't get the green card. The money not withstanding. [You will be glad you did]
As noted by somebody else, you have up till Sept. 30, 2008 to process your case; so nothing spoil.
Call the Embassy monthly to get a status update.
Also post on the Nigerian thread; you may get more information from there.
If you look on the Nigerian thread, you will notice that folks who can't answer those academic quetions get denied outright. The fact that you are on admin process is a good thing; they are still willing to consider your case.
I am not a marriage counsellor and I usually don't give unsolicited advice [you quickly make enemies if you do that]; but it seemed like you were disappoited with your wife, and I felt like voicing my thoughts.
Good wishes to you and your family.
