Hi all,
Y\'day I stamped my passport at Miami INS office.
(Was preparing this message Y\'day, but due to the tragedy it is delayed by a day)
My wife\'s case was filed on July 2nd 2001 (Follow to Join).
She got her EAD and AP last week. Her 485 is still pending
and as per IIO it takes about three months from now for her FP
My details:

Approval Date - 09/05/01
AVM Updated - 09/06/01

Passport Stamped - 09/11/01
Never checked/cared about Amd 140, but know that it was filed in first week of June
It was a simple process which took less than five minutes.
The officer called me in her office, made me sit, asked for Approval letter, Passport and I-94s. She took my EADs saying that I don\'t need them anymore. Took my Index finger print and signature on I-89, stamped on my passport and said, CONGRATULATIONS, you are Permanent Resident now, you can travel and work using this. She also verified my address. She didn\'t take my APs.
The stamp is valid for a year and I was told that the cards will arrive in two to three months.
My sincere Thanks to many people on this web site (Can\'t name them as they are many). Many Many thanks to IGATE Legal Dept (Especially Tripti) for their prompt effort and responses for all my queries (as my wife\'s is a follow to join case, I had many queries for them). The company name change was advatageous for me as we had enough time to file my wife\'s case. I know for many people it was a nightmare. Been with IGATE/Mastech for three and half years, at the same client.
Never called IIO until we heard that my case was approved.
I\'ll be pleased to help, if you have any questions.
Good Luck everyone.

Office Address
USINS Miami District Office
7880 Biscayne Boulevard

As there are many number of immigrants in Miami, ususally the INS office is much crowded.
There is paid parking at the back of the building on NE 78th Street.
I wanted to come to work and so reached INS office at 4.20 AM and found some 70 people already waiting there (The Q is on 78th street at the back of the building). For the first 50 people, there are seats but all ther other people have to wait standing. So if you go early, you\'ll get a seat. Otherwise, you can rent a basket (used to carry clothes for laundry) from a guy for 1$ for unlimited time !!!! If you are planning to reach there after 5.00 AM, I recommend you to carry Beach chairs. I saw a few people using them. (Tip : A walkman or a good novel will help people who want to be alone)
At 5.15 AM, one of the security staff, started shuffling the Queue. They separated the long Q into two, asking some of us to go and wait in the opposite direction, where there is no shelter. It started raining at 6.30 and so they allowed us inside the building near the INS staff parking and gave us tokens with numbers.
At 7.00 they allowed us inside. After standing for three hours, Ummmmm, the seats felt SOOOO comfortable.....My number was called at 7.40 and I was out at 7.45. I\'ll have to go through this once again along with my wife. (Hopefully very soon).
Cheers
