If you postpone N-400 interview in Washington field office, how long until new one

Long story, but this is the question. If you have a N-400 interview in early February in the Washington DC field office, and you want to postpone it, when do you think the interview will be rescheduled for? A couple of weeks? A couple of months? Can you request a specific date?

And, do you need to give a reason?

If you want to reschedule your interview, its possible! Send it to the DO that sent you the Interview request. You can request a reschedule, then they will reschedule the interview to suit their convenience, not yours. It could mean anywhere from 3 weeks to more than 6 months depending on what they feel like.

You can go ahead and reschedule again. But I think they will only grant up to 3 reschedule requests.
