If you loose job after 6 month period

If applicant file his I-485 and losse his job after moret then 6 months. What does law say in that scenario. Does he need to leave the country right away. Can he wait till he gets green card without getting job. Can he starts a buissnes.

I think s/he should find a job with similar job classification/responsibilities/skills as soon as possible
