Validity of passport for FP

Does the INS require that the passport be valid for a certain period of time when you do the Finger Prints? I\'d appreciate it if those who have experience in this area can share it. Thanks a lot.

Me and My wife went with our expired passport. We also had our driving...

Me and My wife went with our expired passports. We also had our driving linceses and I had my EAD. They did not ask us anything about it. We got finger printed and within two days the AVM changed to ".....processing resumed."
 
FP notices from TSC, not VSC where I-485 was filed to

Just got my FP notices from TSC instead of VSC
where my I-485 was filed to. Is this normal?
Anybody has similar experience? Does it mean
that my case has been moved to TSC? Thanks!
