If I want a name change, when should I do it during the naturalization process?

I'd like to change my name to Wilhelm Olsson to William Olsson.

When do I indicate my name change request?

(1) when I submit my naturalization application
(2) during naturalization interview
(3) after I receive notice for oath ceremony
(4) when I show up for the oath ceremony

Thanks!

First, you have to indicate the name change on the N-400 , then during the interview the officer will ask you wether you would like to change your name, you can acknowledge that then.

Good luck!

Thanks! I assume I won't have to give any reason for a name change, right? :)

Wilhelm is a nice name. Why do you want to change it?

That's not my real name... I just used it as an example... :)
