Hi All,

I have applied by expedited processing for my U.S. passport last thursday, but still today my check has not been cashed, nor do they have any information when I check the status online. When I called the National Support Center, they told me to find if my check has ben cashed and didn't help me, since they couldn't check my status online. Since I have booked my tickets to travel on business next weekend, can anyone suggest what I should do. I have a Canadian Passport, is it ok for me to travel on that passport. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks
Kumar

I used expedited processing, and at no time during the 3 week turnaround did the online status ever show up.

Also, I probably wouldn't recommend trying to reenter the US with your Canadian passport - remember you don't have a GC or visa anymore!

Yeah, and you don't have your natz certificate either (since you gave that to the state department).

I believe you are pretty much SOL at this point -- you could show them the photocopy of your natz certificate and the receipt for your passport, and they *might* let you back into the US.

I'm planning on traveling to Canada 2 days after my oath ceremony. My plan is to take my Canadian passport with me to get into Canada, and then show my fresh Natz to get back into the US the next week. I'll stop off at the post office the next day to apply for a passport.

I think you need to have copy of certificate notarized if you don't have the original. There may be a fine for using an original or notarized copy of certificate of naturalization instead of a passport when you return to the U.S., except for a few countries such as Canada and Mexico.
