If I-485 gets approved when we are outside the country

I am going to India in Dec and I am going to use AP for rentry. My husband is going to enter using H1B. If our I-485 gets approved when we are in India, do we need to present the original I-485 approved papers at the Port of entry.

No.

If you read the AP document it says that it acts in lieu of a visa. So you 'probably dont' need any other papers other than the valid AP and EAD.
