YES,

It's a national policy! They try to make us just give up YEARS OF our lives and go back to our countries. The bad thing is that once you're back you have missed the link with your friends anymore!!!!So you will be immigrant there too.
Just try other country. I tried Canada. As soon as I'm approved I'm living the AMERICAN nightmare!!!!!

We need another option:

It'll come when it'll come and I don't give a damn. I visit this forum to laugh at losers describing how both USCIS and Congress are conspiring to make their lives miserable.

yes, from all the hints, either dates will retrogress or they will stay around April 2001. But, why do we need to have plan B. It will come, when it will come, or it won't come, and I will go back to India (boy, will my parents love that!!!!!!).

The paln while coming from Parent country was to "COME" to United States, not to become a citizen. The goal at that time was a "VISA" to US. When I moved, I didn't think I have "emigrated" to US. I came with my job and "hopes" of settling down permanently if "possible". It's was just that over the years, after watching a lot of people get their Green Card that I started expecting mine to come in the mail. Alas! as we grow, our expectations grow along. From that pounding heart outside the US consulate, waiting for the interview call, we have grown to expect more. I wish I could go back to that state when I always converted money before buying anything and enjoy the fact that my aspirations of arriving in the US were fulfilled. I will be waiting for the GC impatiently.

BTW, I have a great job, pays 300K/year and I don't mind waiting.

Sincerely
