If a dependant works on EAD, does the primary applicant\'s status change to EAD?

Just want to confirm \'coz we are expecting a few lay-offs in my company...I am the dependant. If I start working on EAD, my husband can still retain his H1B status, right? He is the primary applicant and currently both of us have H1B visa.

Ric is 100% right

No problem with status of primary applicant if a dependedent uses EAD.
On the other hand, if primary applicant uses EAD, dependent will lose
H status.
