If 140 is approved, it is just the matter of time for 485 to be approved?

If 140 gets approved, 485 will be approved sooner or later, it is just the matter of time. Is this correct?

Just a matter of Time?

My I-140 was approved way back in Dec 2000 and my 485 is still not approved after 2 RFEs. The intervening period was the most agonizing time I had ever faced in my life.

And its just not time anymore, USA is thinking hard for ways to curtail unwanted elements from entering it. The current hold on approvals is an example.

So nothing should be taken for granted until it materializes.

RFE - Request for Evidence. This is a letter the INS uses to request additional information on a pending case.
