i have been waiting 120 days for my 1st ead and i haven't recieve anything not even an approval. so i decided to get an infopass in nyc federal plaza on aug.8. can anybody who had experience this tell me the procedure and what to bring. help would be appreciated thank you so much.

Wow, 120 days is a long time. You could have scheduled an Infopass earlier!!
When I got my iEAD, I had to fill out a new I-765 at the counter. Only took 2 minutes. Bring all the letters that you received: Your receipt notices for your original I-765 and I-485, the fingerprint notices, passport and I-94.
They will take another picture and a fingerprint and you will get your iEAD within 20 minutes.

Good luck! :)

Hello!
I also waited 100 days before infopass appointment and , surprise.... they did not give me the iEAD right away even I had all the documents, instead they make me fill out new I-765 application and then gave me new appointment time, which by the way is tomorrow morning (day 112) to "for issuance of an employment authorization document", well.. I hope you're lucky, I guess it depends of the officer and DO; so far my journey has been kind of bumpy... :)

I didn't get the fingerprint notice for the I-765 only for I-485, so my guess is that it was the problem.. who knows, I'm also getting worried since I have not got the interview notice.. most of the people here have got theirs extremely early.. , well, I'm planning to ask tomorrow what's going on, hopefully I will get some good news for a change!

no patty, i didn't get no RFE i don't know why it's taking so long for them to approve my ead. I just wish on my appointment day i get my ead because i need to help my wife to pay for the bills. can't find no decent job without an ead so im hoping i get mine.by the way thanks for the reply again!

Hey I got my iEAD today.. but one question bothers me... why it is valid only 3 months, that doesn't sound right or does it? I hope I don't need to go there again in couple of months... hmmmm

Noyboy, I wish you good luck with your iEAD. When you get it, go to the Social Security Administration right away to apply for your Social Security Number. This process can take a couple of weeks too, so it's important that you apply for it as soon as you have the iEAD. You will get a letter saying that you applied for a Social, that plus your iEAD makes you legal to work. I know what you mean about paying the bills. We are in the exact same situation, and after all this time I'm glad that I can finally help out now. Good luck!! :)

Snowflake, my iEAD was only valid for 3 months, too. You should get your interview notice soon, and then you won't need it anymore anyway. Or your EAD will get approved before your interview. I think they don't issue iEADs for a longer period of time anymore, because there have been a lot of fraud cases.
Wish you good luck with everything!
