I used the services of my lawyer to file for 2nd EAD and AP. I paid $1200 in lawyer and INS fees out of my pocket. My EAD is expiring 04/2003.


My lawyer wants $100 person for iEAD paperwork. Is this something I can do myself? I definitely do not want to pay 200 bucks.

What do we need for iEAD? I just have my I485 recipt with me (self and spouse) and original I-140 notice. I do not have amended I-140 approval notice.

I applied for I485 and EAD. My RD is Nov 7th. I haven’t received my EAD yet. I went to local INS and I told them that I haven’t received my EAD. INS person gave me an application which is very easy to fill. I filled it by my self and after half an hour they gave me iEAD.

I don’t think it is difficult for you to fill that form. Even if you need help INS officers will help you. I don’t think it is worth to pay 200.

Thanks for the reply. Did you also have to take the EAD application receipt, I-140 approval with you?

Its a total ripoff... don't use your lawyer....

you can do it yourself. Its very easy. Go to your Local INS, show them you EAD receipt and ask for iEAD. They'll give you a form which is fairly straight forward. If you find any questions tough... just ask them.. they'll help you out...

PS: When I asked my lawyer to file for my EAD renewal, he told me its a good idea to do it by myself... because he didn't want to rip me off... Ya, thats what he told... "Its a waste of your money... All I do is fill up 2 very simple forms and fedex them to INS.." when I insisted on him doing it.. he asked me to fill up the forms and send it to him... when I did everything.. he said "all I'm going to do now is just fedex it to INS.... Do you want to pay $1000 for that?"

i will send an e-mail to my lawyer asking him for EAD receipt and will go to the local INS office. will keep you posted.

1 AOS rct,
2 EAD rct,
3 copy of current EAD front and back
4 One more form filled,
5 covering letter

Additionally for spouse:-

6 Marriage certificate,
7 Primary's AOS rct

Walk in allowed after 90 days from EAD rct date.
