iEAD process in Tampa

My application for EAD renewal has been beyond 90 days. According to the new released TSC processing time, it is unlikely that I could get it done before my current one is expired early next month (April).

If you had experience how to get iEAD from Tampa office, please share your experience here.

Most posters I have read on this forum is day 1 to get application form done and make an appointment and then day 2 to iEAD. I seems to me that there is no way to get iEAD at the same day right now.

I have roughly a month grace period from today. When should I go there to make appointment (though online info from Tempa office says to make appoinment via phone call, how effective? really working?), next week or after?

I appreciate your input which is not limited to Tempa office.

RE: Tampa EAD

Hi,

My last EAD was set to expire 12/2002, and Ｉsubmitｄ　renew applicaiton in 7/2002. It just arrived today 3/11/2003, 7 months later.

Last Nov. I called my lawyer (some big firm hired by my big corporate employer) and they told me several things:

1. Tampa office (the one near airport) is extremely busy and told my laywer they would not take my walk-in application

2. My lawyer suggest me to wait, for although the EAD expires, I can still work for my current job.

The EAD I received today is dated valid from 3/4/2003 to 3/4/2004.

I don't know how I can fill the 12/2002 to 3/4/2003 gap yet, cuz my company requires me to fill out a new I-9 everytime I renews my EAD.

Anyway, good luck, seems Texas is moving now．
