my ead # is wac031205XXXX , RD Mar 7, not yet appvd. i went for iEAD at the local Philly office and they denied. i moved here from San JOse and still have the CA driver's lic. Can i go to San JOse for the iEAD?? PLease reply with ur experience.

rso, depends on the mailing address you gave on your application .. you need to go to that local office.

I have updated the address on the EAD by call the 949 number in april. the new address is my philly address.

Did you tell the philly silly office that? What addy shows on ur app? Also what reason did the silly philly office give you for denial?

also my present EAD is expiring this month end. since the local office is not issuing iead, i was thinking of goin to san jose and try my luck there...please suggest

Ok, here are ur 3 options,

a) If ur in Silly Philly, go again, try again, this time tell them you changed ur address (maybe fax CSC a paper and keep that copy).

b) If ur in SJ, try ur luck here, and don't tell them about your address change. If they find out on their own, tell them you tried philly, and you flew all the way here, because philly said INSPITE of address change, SJ will deal with it .. chances are they will bite.

c) You can wait for EAD. According to your wac, you should get EAD soon, but since you've had a transfer, don't be too sure of it.

regd
option 2: when i fill out the 765 form, dont i need to put my address there, what sud i do if i go to SJ.
option 3: i had changed the address on my wife's ead too but hers got apprvd last week.

Dang the site is slow today.

a) When did you move to Silly Philly?
b) option 2: when i fill out the 765 form, dont i need to put my address there, what sud i do if i go to SJ.

Ok here's the thing, you put philly and go to SJ, you invite questions. Remember, soon as you put your application infront of an INS officer, you have his very short attention span to deal with. So in that time, you can either

a) Explain the situation .. which he might not bother to listen after a fixed mindset that this dude needs to go to Philly.

b) Write in your SJ address, and make it match with the rest of your papers, and hope he won't double check (none of us on this board probably know if they bother to double check or not). If he does double check, explain him politely that philly people asked you to come to SJ, so you put SJ address. Tell him you flew all the way for this, cry if you have to.

So I say, use your judgement between a) and b). a) means you are being rightful. b) Means lesser hassle .. *if ur not caught*. Not tryin' to scare you, but if ur caught, they will certainly not give you iEAD (then you can try once more). Hopefully 99.99% they won't do anymore than sending you back .. but there's always a finite probability.

A *LOT* of this is your marketing skill, and there is no good answer to this, except .. try it out .. it all depends on the officer's MOOD and brainwaves at that point.

Technically correct thing to do, Philly addy, Philly center, and tell them that you changed your address. But if ur in SJ already , can't hurt to try option b) .. worst they'll send you back. Just take care not to annoy any officer, those idiots have some power.

iEAD is totally the center's discreetion. If the officer feels like it, he'll give you EAD. You just need to convince him, thats it .. use your skills.

San Jose's worth a try. They rn't too particular abt the current address. Passport as ID's enough - they will be convinced if u show them CA driver's licence - not that it's necessary.

Chances of getting iEAD at San Jose are 99%. It would be worth the ticket to San Jose if u need iEAD urgently.
