IEAD for 1st time EAD applicants?

Here is our scenario. My husband applied for his 485/EAD/AP January '05 (I am the primary applicant). His EAD receipt notice date is 01/27/05. In early March we received a notice asking for color copies of his passport biographic pages. This was received by them on March 24th.
1. Is the request for color copies an RFE?
2. If the above is an RFE, is his receipt date now considered March 24th?
3. Given the above information will he be able to apply for an interim EAD 90 days from the original receipt date of 01/27? (My husband has a job offer that he will loose if he does not start soon.)

Yes this is an RFE - Request For (additional) Evidence

2. If the above is an RFE, is his receipt date now considered March 24th?

No it is still March 24th, but for the purpose of getting iEAD his 90 day clock now resets to that date, i.e. date of RFE.
Note, this is not my personal experience, but what I rememebr reading. Please verify this information.

3. Given the above information will he be able to apply for an interim EAD 90 days from the original receipt date of 01/27? (My husband has a job offer that he will loose if he does not start soon.)

Get an official offer letter with company letterhead stating that he has a job offer but if he doesn't start on suchandsuch date, the offer is rescinded. Take this letter with an Infopass appointment to your local office and request an interim EAD on the basis of job loss/termination. Bring the color copies of your passports or whatever they were asking for in the RFE.
