iEAD expires, original pendig what to do?

Hi I applied EAD for my wife on Feb 13, 2003 after 90 days i collected iEAD and she is working using that...still my original application is pending. Now my iEAD expires in May 04. I called USCIS and they said we will investigate and reply you after 4-5 weeks.

As iEAD expires in May 04 i want to apply for another EAD so i can get another iEAD in May..so that my wife can continue her work.

so i like to know that
is it ok to apply for new EAD while old is pending ? does it cause any issue ?

if there is little gap (few days) between iEAD experied and new EAD/iEAD, does it cause any problem in job or status ?

I think you can go for another iEAD in your local center as long as your original EAD doesn't get approved.

but this is just my thinking.........

CANT YOU TRY FOR ANOTHER IEAD.
JUST WALK IN AND ASK FOR ANOTHER IEAD, IF THEY REFUSE TALK TO SECONF TIER AT THE CENTER AND ASK THEM WHAT TO DO. IF THEY PUT A TRACE THEY CAN DEFENITELY TELL YOU WHAT IS HOLDING YOUR CASE.
HAS YOUR I-140 BEEN APPROVED.

yes i got my I140 approved 2 years back.

Still my iEAD is valid till May 04...so i don't think they will issue me another iEAD may be i wait till reply from USCIS.
